Abstract and Expressive – Visually Enticing. Adding excitement and life to any room or space.
Living on the Sunshine Coast (Queensland, Australia) I am fortunate to be surrounded by everything beautiful. Beaches, hinterlands, urban and rural spaces abound, and the plethora of gorgeous wildlife that we share this space with is amazing.
I have been painting for many years, but have made more time for myself to spend creating in the last few years. With this extra commitment I have seen growth and development, both in my work and in myself, and as such I have become more confident in 'putting my work out there'.
I am always delighted to learn that my work has resonated with someone else who has either commented or purchased. Whilst I am always painting for my own pleasure, it is a lovely thing to know that I am also bringing pleasure to others. It is an honour to know that I have works hanging in other people's spaces that are bringing them joy.
I am fortunate to have enjoyed some success winning prizes and accolades in competitions and exhibitions along the way, which is always very special. I believe the best art is honest art. It is the art that you have created from your heart. It will speak to ‘your’ people and they will understand the ‘where’ and ‘why’ of what you have created, and appreciate the vision that you have expressed.
I have categorised my items into ‘Maxi’, ‘Midi’ and ‘Mini’ to help you navigate around. Maxi are the larger items, Midi are medium size, and Mini are the smaller works.
I thank you for visiting my page, and hope that you too might find something that you would enjoy having in your space.

I like to experiment with all kinds of mediums and mark-making within the context of an acrylic painting. I mostly work on canvas, however do also work on paper and board. I enjoy letting the paint and mark-making create the base which I can then intuitively respond to and expand upon.
I never start a painting with any preconceived ideas of what I would like it to be, or where it might end up. This ‘not knowing’ keeps me stimulated and interested, and provides the opportunity to create with freedom and playfulness. Each and every work is a puzzle to be solved, and each has its own unique journey.
I subscribe to the ‘there are no mistakes’ ethos. It is never ‘nothing’ that comes out of a creative session - even if I don’t end up with something that I would hang on my wall. It is all a journey of ‘discovery’ and ‘stretching my boundaries’. All the messes are teaching me what I do and don’t like, how I do and don’t like working, and what I do and don’t like using. It is all this experimentation and excitement of learning something new that keeps me coming back.
